Cupping therapy is an ancient alternative medicine treatment in which suction cups are used. Suction is created by placing these cups on various parts of your body for the purpose of improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation and tackling diseases by promoting cell repair. It is done mainly to create new blood vessels in the tissue and enhance the formation of new connective tissues.
At Ayushyaa Clinic, we practice dry cupping that makes use of a suction pump to create pressure. The cups are made of silicone or glass that has to be placed for about 10-15 minutes to achieve the desired result. This cupping therapy does wonders to your health.

Cupping is a traditional treatment to cure acute pain. It involves placing a spherical glass cup into the area to be treated after a vacuum has been created inside it. This process can give a deep down cure that is too hard to reach muscular pain.
In order to create the negative pressure, a cup is placed over the area to be treated and a vacuum like suction is created within the cup to draw up underlying tissues into the cup. The suction intensity can range from light to heavy, and movements by the therapist can be stimulating or sedating based on the needs of the individual client.
Cupping softens tight muscles, tones attachments, loosens adhesions and lifts connective tissue by creating suction and negative pressure. The same suction also helps to hydrate the underlying tissues and increase blood flow to tissues.
The discoloration that appears during most treatments is a desired effect. The more visible or the darker the mark, the greater the level of stagnation and toxicity that has been removed. This is the effect of stagnant fluids (toxins, blood and lymph) that often appear on the skin as discoloration being brought to the skin surface during treatment. The cupping marks can last anywhere from a couple hours to no more than 1 week depending on the severity of the mark.
